Dr. Julie Griffith is both a pediatric and adult neurologist, a medical doctor, who assists individuals with
newly diagnosed autism, Lyme disease, headaches, seizures, etc. Case management for general
neurological care, nutrition including specialized diets, care for neuroimmune disease, food allergies,
removing toxins, etc. can be done via phone consultation (with fax, email and mail supplemental exchange
of information, as needed).
Dr. Julie A. Griffith is an internationally-known expert in the field of Learning and Behavioral disorders,
with expertise and great interest in autism, autonomic disorders, chronic fatigue syndrome, nutrition,
neuroimmune conditions, Lyme disease, heavy metal poisoning, neurodevelopmental delay, headaches,
and seizures. Dr. Griffith has devoted her career to improving the lives of her patients through a
comprehensive program of nutrition, combined with in depth medical and therapeutic services.
Dr. Griffith cares for the neurological or neuropsychiatric care of both children and adults.
Phone consultation can consist of answering questions how to get started with medical care, including
which physicians or specialists to be referred to, including, but not limited to, neuropsychologists,
educational therapists, audiologists, speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, vision
therapists, orientation and mobility experts, driver's testing (book work and in the field testing for
patients with neurologically impairing conditions), pediatric and internal medicine subspecialists,
osteopathic physicians, clinical nutritionists, etc.
Dr. Griffith may suggest specific diagnostic testing of specimens to be obtained (blood, hair, saliva, stool,
and/or urine) or specific other diagnostic tests to be obtained, such as audiogram, tympanogram, central
auditory processing evaluation, BSAER (brainstem auditory evoked response) or neuroimaging (head
MRI, NeuroSPECT, PET scan, EEG, polysomnogram (sleep study), nerve conduction study,
electromyogram, etc.
The phone consultation can assist patients in making the correct first step, getting a sense of priorities in
the testing and diagnostic process so energies can be best spent obtaining the most useful medical
consultation or testing possible, while being referred to the best suited physician, specialist, or therapist.
This triage or appropriateness of medical care can be essential for getting appropriate medical care,
without suffering a "shot gun" approach, or coming away without the diagnosis being made.
Feeling and functioning better, and even gaining a zest for living, in many cases, are attainable goals.
Above all else, Dr. Griffith is dedicated to improving the health and well-being of her patients.
